Dungeness crab season is in full swing and Scoma’s
Restaurant was celebrating with its Crab Challenge. On Friday,
February 29th at Scoma's, we challenged our crab-crazy judges to
select their favorite recipe from the
dozens we received and they ate up the challenge. Although the
judging was difficult, there were no empty plates, so we know that
the
finalists’ recipes tasted fantastic.
Often frequented by locals and tourists, Scoma's Restaurant, located in beautiful Fisherman's Wharf, is a must-visit for delicious food with a wonderful dining environment overlooking the San Francisco Bay with Alcatraz in site.
Since
1965, brothers Al and Joe Scoma has transformed their tiny, six-stool
joint on
Pier
47 into one
of the nation’s highest grossing independent restaurant west of the Mississippi River by using their mother’s recipe collection and by maintaining their family tradition of friendly service. Scoma's six-stool counter is now a 350-seat restaurant, serving more than 450,000 locals and visitors annually. Scoma’s also owns a fish receiving station, which permits public viewing of wild salmon and local Dungeness crab as it’s
off-loaded from boats and prepared for the kitchen daily.
“ We let our food speak for itself.”
